Summer is almost here—the weather is warming up. We’re starting to see a lot more flea problems in pets—don’t let fleas infest your house and back garden! We also look at how to the hidden disease Feline AIDS—and keep December the 6th free!

Summer Flea Control

With the weather warming up, more fleas will be hatching out.
Many fleas will already be in the environment, waiting for the right conditions to hatch. Don’t let fleas breed on your dog or cat—use the right flea control to stop fleas becoming a problem.
Year round flea control is the answer to flea problems in summer.

Could your cat have Feline AIDS?

Feline AIDS caused by Feline Immunodeficiency Virus affects around 14% of cats in NSW, but many cats will carry the virus without knowing for many years.

Feline AIDS causes immune depression (as does human AIDS) as well as weight loss, eye problems, mouth disease and ongoing diarrhea.

All outside cats are at risk of Feline AIDS, but vaccination is available to protect our cats.

Boarding Pets for the Christmas Holidays

If you haven’t already organized dog and cat boarding for Christmas—be quick! Don’t miss out. Every year we have plenty of anxious phone calls coming up to Christmas from people who leave boarding too late.

The Roseville Veterinary Surgery offers dog and cat boarding—at the Ku-Ring-Gai Veterinary Hospital and the Hanrob Boarding Kennels. The Ku-Ring-Gai Vet Hospital is fully booked for the Christmas week—but at time of printing Hanrob kennels do have vacancies.

Call Hanrob on 8508-3222 or visit the website www.hanrob.com.au for more information. Pets can be picked up and delivered from the Roseville Veterinary Surgery for boarding.

Pet Product of the Month—

Protect-a-Home Premises Flea Mist and Spray

95% of fleas actually live in the environment, and not on pets.

Protect-a-home Flea Spray can be used around pets bedding, dog kennels and furniture to kill fleas in the environment. Protect-a-home Flea Mist penetrates smaller areas to kill adult environmental fleas.

If you’re seeing a lot of fleas at home, use Protect-a-home Premises flea mist and spray to help get fleas under control.

We recommend monthly flea control on pets (ie Frontline, Advantage) to stop fleas from breeding, and prevent flea infestations on pets.

Help rid your environment of fleas with Protect-a-Home flea products

Farewell Angela

Ange is departing Roseville Vet Surgery to move on in her vet nursing career. She has taken up a post at our other practice, the Ku-Ring-Gai Veterinary Hospital, to concentrate on more surgical and critical care nursing.
After caring for the pets of Roseville for the last 12 months, her compassionate presence will be missed here, but Ange will be coming to the Roseville Pet Party on December 6th—so pop along to see her.
